This 8 Days Serengeti Migration Safari by Kili Africa Tours, is a special African Holiday Package for Witnessing the Great Serengeti Wildebeest Migration.
The biggest chance to see river crossings is around July and August when the wildebeest migrate from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya or around September and October when they cross the way around. July marks the start of the start of the Masai Mara River crossing as well as mating season in the Serengeti. It is the time of the year when wildebeest herds begin moving faster in search of water and greener grass, making their way across the Grumeti and Mara River. Expect to see crocodile encounters, if your luck.
Over their pattern of movement is highly weather dependent and dynamic, yet with advance planning and a little bit of luck you can witness this natural wonder of the world. The tour is available throughout the year, but opting for it in the right season will leave you awestruck. Your safari will begin by 8AM in the morning with a pick up from your hotel at Moshi or Arusha. With everyone aboard, you will head towards Tarangire National Park. The 150km drive form Arusha will be covered in about 3 hours. The national park is extremely famous and special for its diverse landscape and nine different vegetation zones. As you begin your game drive, you will be welcomed by the ancient and gigantic Baobab trees, which make even animals like the giraffe look tiny. The game drive goes on till about late afternoon and includes a small stop for a picnic lunch. The 3,000 Square kilometers park gets its name from the Tarangire River that flows through it. The river attracts a lot of diverse animals and you should be able to spot a lot of elephants, giraffe, lions, antelopes and zebra. Have good night’s sleep for tomorrow’s adventure. 8 Days Serengeti Migration
Day 2: Tarangire – Serengeti National Park
The excitement for today will be quite high as you make your way into the most celebrated wildlife park in the world – The Serengeti. After finishing up a good breakfast, you will head out towards the Serengeti National Park and travel in the midst of the never ending plain grasslands. The Serengeti, means endless plains in the local African language and watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is an absolutely breathtaking view. With an overall land area of 14,763 Square kilometers, it puts our notion about distance to shame. The Serengeti also houses the glorious “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). Along with the “Big 5”, a very pleasant sighting would be one of Africa’s most beautiful animal – The Impala. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa. The legendary Serengeti National Park is the most renowned safari destination for its incredible population of lions and leopards. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. In Seronera, one must really look out for the many lion prides that thrive in this region. You must also look out for the Serengeti “Kopjes” which are massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long game drive itself. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park (Central Serengeti to North Serengeti)
Starting by 8AM after a filling breakfast, you will explore the central portion of the Serengeti National Park today and move towards the northern part of the park. The enroute game drive towards the Kogatende region will offer mild action from resident game. As you approach the northern part of the Serengeti, you will notice the terrain change from the usual plain grassland to a more hilly and broken terrain. The northern region offers a variety of resident game such zebras, topi, gazelle, buffaloes, leopards and lions. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long drive itself. Based on the time of your arrival you will able to spend a few hours by the Mara River. The eventful day comes to an end with a heavy dinner and a good night’s rest in your accommodation.
Day 4 & 5: North Serengeti National Park
As usual, you will finish a good breakfast and begin your day by 8AM. In the months between mid-June to September the migration can be found in this region. From mid-June to September, the Mara River in this region offers the most dramatic river crossing of the great migration. Fierce, deep and heavily rain fed the river takes an enormous toll on the migrating wildebeest. Watching the wildebeest surging through the torrential flow, some drowning and a few falling prey to lurking crocodiles is an unforgettable sight. If it’s your lucky day you will be able to witness this natural wonder and watch nature take its course. Tracing the great migration you might even move towards the Lobo valley. The pristine lobo valley is scattered with woodlands, plains, hills and famous granite Kopjes. It offers enormous amount of big cat game with lions, leopards and cheetah in plenty. During the dry season the permanent water sources in the valley attract plenty of resident and migratory animals, resulting in excellent game viewing. During the full day game drive, you will have a stop where you can have your picnic lunch. The day comes to an end with a tasty dinner and a good rest in your choice of accommodation.
Day 6: Central Serengeti National Park (North Serengeti to Central Serengeti)
Starting your day at the routine time of 8AM after a heavy breakfast, today you will head south towards the central Serengeti. The four hours’ drive to the Centre of Serengeti will offer mild enroute game. The drive south from the Mara river valley takes you through hill country, the Lobo area, woodlands and then back into the Seronera terrain. The central portion of the Serengeti – known as Seronera area is one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park. It features the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. As you make your way into the Seronera region, you will begin to notice the hilly and broken terrain altering into plain grasslands. In Seronera one must really look out for the many lion prides that thrive in this region. The interactions and survival of these lion prides provide an excellent game viewing experience all year round. A picnic lunch will be done during the day long drive itself. Words From Our Happy Clients
Kili Africa Tours rules Everything was excellent with our Climbing Kilimanjaro trip thanks to Kili Africa Tours agency, especially thanks to my two Summit guides that supported me on the last night trying to get to the Roof of Africa. Without them I would not have got to the top. I will always remember Abuu words “it’s too soon to quit” and Enock’s and Abuu’s help. They kept me safe all the way up. The determination they had made me reach the top and become a stronger woman. I cannot praise them and the entire team highly enough. Jackline, Jamal, Innocent Abuu and Enoch: thank you for your support. Also our cook Godson! They all kept us informed and guided us each and every moment very professionally and responsibly, having good times along the way. Also Seif, keep up the good work and make people from all over the world happy by reaching Uhuru Peak 5895 m! Kili Africa Tours rules!
Excellent hiking experience with Kili team Kili Africa Tours was recommended to me by a good friend , back in December last year. Kilimanjaro, the roof of Africa, was always in my plans, but never closed to reality.. Doing some early planning and cash advance for early booking of hotels and some basic stuff was done by Seif in a transparent and very professional manner. So there I was on a very early morning on JRO international airport meeting the guy in lead and part of his great team. Next we were introduced to the guides meant to show us unbelievable beautiful trails in a incredible landscape , making this mountain unique in the world . Besides the guides was a really professional cook. Porters were very friendly. However be ready for extra tips because of national park regulations many more are hired. For 7 tourists they allocated 28 porters. Expedition itself took 8 days , ascension started on Machame route from Machame Gate to Machame camp crossing a deep and misty jungle. Next days we d into moon desert like landscape at around 4000 m for a good acclimatization.Mountain hardware tents made cool nights to be felt warmly. A mobile shower and toilettes units made our life much easier than expected :) For summit we waked up around midnight and started hiking around 1300 m ascent trail. There were strong winds blowing with about 60 70kmph from time to time, resulting in a real feel around -15C. As all of us reached the summit, some of us with a generous help from our guides, we descended happily to Milenium camp following Mweka route. All in all was a very pleasant and and unique experience offered by the Kili Africa Tours which I gladly recommend to all who want to climb Kilimanjaro.
Arriving in Tanzania We organized our stay in Safari and in Arusha with them including the drive to the hotel. They were very professional and punctual.

Wonderful and unforgettable experience! I had an amazing experience. Both the Kilimanjaro climb and the 5-day safari have been great successes! Thanks to Rama, my wonderful guide for Kilimanjaro and his encouragements along the way, I managed to reach the top, although I was on the point of giving up several times due to the low oxygen concentration in the air, especially after 4800-5000 m. Onest, my safari guide made me have the time of my life diring the 5 day safari în Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngoro-Ngoro and Lake Manyara. His great experience and expertise în all aspects of animal life made me gain a lot of insight into this great part of Zanzibar nature.
Unforgettable experience! Highly recommend Kili Africs Tours! Our expedition to Kilimanjaro was perfectly and professionally organised thanks to their kind and attentive crew of guides and porters. From the delicious food (vegan for myself) to the advice, guidance, and incredible support, everything was taken care of with great spirits, love and care to ensure our entire team summited and descended safely and strongly. Thanks so much Kili Africa for the unforgettable experience. Respect and love to the whole team!
Best experiencia ever Climbing Kilimanjaro with Kiki Africa tours was the best experience I’ve ever had. The staff was amazing and very friendly. They helped us in every way and they were super careful!!! They were also very cheerful and lovely humble people. I would definitely repeat this experience again and again without a doubt. Everything was amazing!!!!
Absolutely recommend! The trip was very professionally managed. The guides, porters and ALL staff were so very supportive and kind to our team. They went out of their way to make us feel motivated, secure, informed, well fed and even entertained during our trek. The entire crew came out to sing and cheer for us when they knew our team was struggling with various members being I'll and when the trek got challenging. It really felt like they were as invested in our efforts to Summitt as we were! The chef prepared amazing food all the way up and down the mountain... even a vegan diet for one team member. It was truly a remarkable experience with these people and I will forever respect and honour their efforts 🙏🏼 Very highly recommended
